Preparation Guide: Italian Moka (Bialetti)
This guide will help you prepare a delicious espresso coffee with your Italian Moka pot (Bialetti style) in a schematic and simple way.
Ingredients:
- Fresh ground coffee (medium grind)
- Italian Moka pot (Bialetti) of the right size for the amount of coffee you want to prepare
- Drinking water
- Stove or stove
Preparation:
1. Fill the lower tank with water:
- Do not fill the tank to the brim. Leave a free space above the safety valve.
- Use cold or room temperature water.
2. Place the filter and ground coffee:
- Insert the metal filter into the lower tank.
- Add ground coffee to the filter without packing it down too much. The coffee should fill the filter without overflowing.
- Do not tamp the coffee, as this can obstruct the flow of water and result in bitter coffee.
3. Assemble the coffee maker:
- Screw the top of the coffee maker onto the lower reservoir, making sure it fits snugly.
- Place the coffee maker on the stove or burner over medium-low heat.
4. Heat and extract:
- Do not use high heat, as this can burn the coffee and give it a bitter taste.
- Watch the water rise through the filter and exit the spout of the coffee maker.
- When the bubbling sound changes to a softer hiss, the coffee is ready.
5. Remove from heat:
- Remove the coffee maker from the heat immediately when you hear the change in the bubbling sound.
- Do not let the coffee continue to boil in the pot, as this can make it bitter.
6. Serve and enjoy:
- Pour the freshly brewed coffee into your cup.
- Savor the aroma and intense flavor of your espresso coffee prepared with Moka Italiana (Bialetti).
Additional Tips:
- Use freshly ground specialty coffee for the best flavor.
- Experiment with different coffee grinds to find the one that best suits your coffee maker and your preferences.
- Clean your coffee maker after each use to maintain optimal flavor and prevent coffee buildup.
- Do not wash the coffee maker in the dishwasher, as this may damage the metal parts.
- Only prepare the amount of coffee you will consume immediately, as Moka coffee does not keep well.
With this guide and a little practice, you'll be able to make delicious, authentic espresso with your Bialetti Moka Pot!
