In 2019, the Wide Awake (WA) project was born, full of passion, in the hands of Rutger and Senina; they decided to bring it to life in a house on the banks of a canal in the city of Brussels, Belgium.
Today the team is made up of eight (8) coffee geeks from different parts of the world who have been brought together by their passion for coffee and who are always looking to learn and what can be improved in terms of specialty coffee. Within the team there are roasters, baristas, tasters and service specialists.
WA's mission is very clear: to bring diversity to the specialty coffee batches they select for their clients, building long-lasting relationships with producers and roasting to perfection thanks to their team of experts in each of their series.
Just like a musical series, coffee profiles are defined by references from pop culture that fit with taste profiles. For example: Strawberry Fields is a coffee that is very reminiscent of red fruit notes, while Juicebox will give coffee lovers a hint that they will find a juicy cup with clear and defined fruity flavours . This makes the approach to coffee accessible and at the same time fun.
