History
The 33 farmers in the Okoluu Farmers' Group grow coffee trees at dizzying altitudes of between 2,000 and 2,150 meters above sea level. The trees on the approximately 2-hectare farms are between 1 and 7 years old. Farmers are increasingly adopting disease-resistant and higher-yielding varieties, which help improve and advance the way they farm.
Agricultural methods in the Guji region remain largely traditional. Guji farmers often intercrop their coffee plants with other food crops. This method is common among smallholder farmers because it maximizes land use and provides food for their families.
Expect notes of dark chocolate and sweetness reminiscent of raspberry and grapefruit.
